A small world for software companions.

This browser habitat uses Pet Parade’s character art in a focused reconstruction. Bring the pets in, move them around, and give them a reason to meet.

Delight is a legitimate software outcome.

01 / The problem

Our tools can feel emotionally flat.

Software is often judged only by how quickly it completes a task. That leaves little room for attachment, surprise, or the simple pleasure of sharing a space with something responsive.

02 / The shaped answer

Treat the desktop as a place.

Pet Parade lets multiple animated companions coexist, move independently, and gather in a shared habitat. The software does not optimize a workflow. It changes the character of the environment.

03 / The limit

Charm cannot be automated on command.

A pet that interrupts, consumes too many resources, or repeats itself endlessly stops being delightful. The design has to protect quiet, consent, and the ability to disappear.

A real desktop experiment—not a speculative mockup.

The original Windows application supports multiple draggable pets, individual controls, composed behaviors, a shared Showcase habitat, persistence, and lightweight operating modes.
